The Evidence of Being Held

Scripture:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.” — Psalm 23:1

It’s Saturday night.

Saturdays are for lovers — the night people settle in with takeout, homemade dinner, a movie, or just the comfort of being home with someone they love.

Maybe it’s because for some, it’s the Sabbath. Maybe it’s because Christ rested. Maybe intimacy just deepens on Saturdays.

And the sex? Ha! It’s always better on Saturday — don’t ask me how I know. Mind your business.

But here’s the truth:

There are days when God’s love doesn’t arrive as fireworks or miracles. It arrives as quiet evidence:

A peaceful home.

A meal you didn’t have to stress over.

A family that gives you space.

A heart that suddenly feels light.

A moment where you look around and realize, “I’m provided for.”

Sometimes the enemy tries to convince you that you’re struggling, forgotten, or behind. But then God gently interrupts the lie with something simple — a whisper, a reminder, a soft moment that settles your spirit.

If you haven’t had this moment before, pay attention. You just have to be open to Him helping you see what He sees in you and around you.

Tonight I saw it.

I felt it.

I recognized it: He carries me. I am kept. Spoiled rotten. Held against His mighty chest — steady and secure.

Provision isn’t always loud. Sometimes it feels like peace. Sometimes it looks like rest. Sometimes it looks like a quiet home and a quiet heart. Sometimes it looks like the ability to breathe without fear. And sometimes it looks like God saying, “I never left you. I never will.”

Reflection

Where in your life today did God quietly show you that you are cared for?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the quiet ways You hold me.

Thank You for the peace that settles me, the provision that sustains me,

and the love that follows me even when I’m not paying attention.

Help me recognize Your presence in the small things,

and remind me that I am never without You.

Amen.
