Unhinged Thursday: Secret to Live Long #3
Listen… God never leaves anyone without a way to receive His promises.
If you don’t have parents to honor, the Word STILL gives you a path to long life.
Honor is not limited to biology. Honor is a posture — and God makes sure every one of His children has access to it. The Bible says He is: “A father of the fatherless.” (Psalm 68:5). Which means this:If you don’t have earthly parents, you honor God directly — and He counts it as honor to a parent. Your obedience to Him becomes your covering. Your humility becomes your protection.
Your teachability becomes your longevity. And if you’re single? You’re not “missing” anything. You’re not “disqualified.” You’re not outside the promise. God sets the solitary in families. (Psalm 68:6). He surrounds you with elders, mentors, and community to honor. Honor flows upward to God and outward to the people He places in your life.
And if you’re married? Honor expands — it doesn’t shrink. Just like Ruth honored Naomi after her husband died, your in‑laws become part of your covenant circle. You honor God first, and you honor the family you married into as far as it is possible for you.
Honor is not about who you came from — it’s about how you walk.
Today’s VIDEVO Takeaway:
If you’re an orphan and married: Honor God. Honor wisdom. And honor your in‑laws as part of your covenant family. God counts it.
If you’re an orphan and single: You are NOT disqualified from long life. God becomes your Father. Your obedience becomes your honor.Your honor toward elders becomes your covering. And the promise of long life STILL belongs to you.
