🌸 Grateful for the Unseen
The Bible asks us to give thanks for everything—what we see and what we don’t: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). God’s reign is sovereign, and He rules over the just and the unjust. And if there’s anyone I’m grateful for, it’s Him—His love and mercy, His self-control, His strength and vision.
His gratitude toward us shows when we are kind, feed the hungry, and show hospitality: “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2).
Today I found out something worth pausing for. While I was away from my 9–5, someone unexpected stood up for me. I wasn’t there to defend myself, but I’ve found that when the enemy pours in like a flood, God Himself defends us: “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19).
I was told that the person said: “She’s on vacation, wait until she comes back, don’t contact her.” That’s gratitude in motion. Not just for the gift of rest, but for someone who guarded it.
And that means a lot to me. Because I see the shift God is doing in my life—removing the tares, the locusts, the opportunists who compete and drain your soul, and sending instead those kind, unbothered spirits who see us for who we all are: human.
So, I’m grateful for good. For those unseen things God does behind my back to protect my peace and my life. The Bible urges us to be grateful because God Himself promises: “He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11).
Keep a spirit of gratefulness today.
