❤️ If Love could talk

Preview

It’d say He loves us more.

It’s no wonder I write romance. How can I not when I’m in love with Love Himself? Who can fathom His ways, the depth of His attributes? One moment I think I’ve understood Him, and the next I’m left puzzled, smiling in awe.

Yet for a love that flows through me, guides me, leads me—how could He allow great pain?

I’ve met many people with the opportunity to change my life. God gives them a key, saying: Bless my servant.

But when they opened the door and saw the blessings, their hearts hardened and they closed it. That testing revealed judgment already at work in their lives. Often, when I show up, it’s God evening the score.

Did I ask for this task? No. Did Job ask for his wounds? “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil” (Job 1:8). Did Abraham ask to leave his home? “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). So why did God pull rank? Why decrease me for His purpose? We don’t know.

What we do know is that those who caused delays were already under a curse God may have wanted to break. But how could He bless if they were wicked? So, He used bait. Through me, they could have reversed the curse, for scripture says: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse” (Genesis 12:3).

Yet we ask: How could He take from our lives to carry His purpose?

Answer: Love.

Our love for Him:

  • Secure in our devotion, He can put us through fire, confident we won’t abandon Him: “When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze” (Isaiah 43:2). He knows we’re His: “Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture” (Psalm 100:3). And again, “The Lord knows those who are His” (2 Timothy 2:19).

  • When we walk through the shadow of death, we can rest in Him, for our love for Him is stronger than hardship: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23:4).

  • We rest in His hands: “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:16).

  • We’ll wait for Him, loving His Kingdom more than earthly rewards: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).

Oh, what a love we experience in Christ Jesus, the author of our faith!
