Great Things in the Storm

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?”

— Isaiah 43:19

Reflection

A believer’s walk is not for the faint of heart. To follow Christ is to carry a cross designed to test love, faith, and devotion. You will be used. You will be misunderstood. You will be asked to stand in places you never signed up for. Yet through it all, God’s plan prevails.

When I first read Genesis, I judged God for rejecting Cain’s offering. It felt harsh. But later, He let me taste what He felt: people helping me with contempt, offering me something so ill-mannered I wished they hadn’t helped at all. That was His way of showing me that Cain’s offering wasn’t about fruit—it was about the posture of the heart.

Like Job, my life has reflected seasons where God entrusted me with battles I didn’t ask for. Yet He was secure in my love for Him, so He used me to set things right, to speak for those who couldn’t speak, to fight giants that others feared. Most of the harm I suffered wasn’t because I deserved it—it was because God was weaving justice through my testimony.

Encouragement

2026 is just another year on the calendar. What matters is staying alert to God’s change of season. Storms don’t cancel His promises—they become the stage where His justice and glory are revealed. You can expect great things in the storm. You can trust Him to set things right, not because of dates or resolutions, but because He is God.

Invitation

  • Examine your offerings: are they given with reverence and love, or with reluctance and contempt?

  • Embrace your trials: they may be the very stage where God’s justice is revealed through you.

  • Stay alert: seasons shift not by calendars, but by God’s word.

Prayer:

Lord, teach me to trust You in the storm. Purify my offerings, strengthen my faith, and let my life be a testimony that Your plan will prevail. Amen.
