Surrender Your Plans — You’re in Great Hands
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5–6
The Struggle of Surrender
My relationship with God is intense. There is no one and nothing that can love me, treat me better, or understand me as deeply as He does. His love gives me freedom to be myself—flawed, complicated, annoying, overbearing, headstrong, with a smart mouth that, when provoked, could lock everyone in hell. And yet, even in my mess, His promise stands: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36
His love never once makes me feel unwanted. Ha! He thinks I’m cute. But His love is not all roses. It is spikes, warfare, pain, loss, grief—as He breaks me down to surrender to His will. “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” — Ephesians 4:30. I feel His daily grief when I disappoint Him, or when He allows me to share His sorrow as He witnesses death, wickedness, and pain across the earth.
Lessons of Motherhood
God was insistent that I become a mother. I resisted, saying I didn’t want children. Yet He gave them to me. And now I see why. He is a Father, and unless I stepped into motherhood, I could never glimpse His perspective—His sacrifices, His patience, His care for wounds and needs.
"As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him." — Psalm 103:13
I remember a time after childbirth when grief and exhaustion weighed heavy on me. In my anger, I said things I should not have said. I screamed at God with contempt: “You need us. Why else would You stay if there wasn’t something You needed from us?”
But before my words could settle, His reply came swiftly:
“Look at your dogs. You spend money to take them to the vet, to groom them. You don’t neglect them, even after having children. Do they add to your life? Do you need them to survive? Do they pay their way in your home? Why do you extend yourself so much for something that can barely give back to you?”
I stumbled, whispering: “Because they will die if I don’t.”
And clarity rushed in: If He turns His back on humankind, we will die. His care is not about what we can give back—it is about His nature as Father, Sustainer, and Life itself.
"For in Him we live and move and have our being." — Acts 17:28
Testimony of Creative Work
When I began Katstale.com, it was only a seed of an idea. He gave me the tools to strip it down to its core. He didn’t hand me the full picture, but He pressed His instruction into my intuition.
"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’" — Isaiah 30:21
What started with a few quotes from my debut novel Found grew into a full store, equipped to sell products. But I knew I needed more—I needed hands beyond my own, a crew to carry the vision. And months later, He surrounded me with designers across the world who could refine my visions into reality.
"Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." — Proverbs 16:3
I’m learning to follow His lead daily. Yes, I kick and scream because I want control. But if He told me everything, how would I learn faith? “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” — Hebrews 11:1
Invitation to Trust
So if you’ve ever doubted Him—even for a moment, even when His silence felt like neglect—hear me as a woman who lives life with Him: you can trust Him with your life. Obey His commands, surrender your plans, and rest in His care. You really are in great hands.
"Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him." — Jeremiah 17:7
Closing Prayer
Lord, teach us to trust You with our plans. Remind us that Your hands are steady even when ours tremble. Help us surrender control, embrace faith, and walk in the freedom You promise. We release our plans into Your hands, knowing You will make them straight. Amen.
